Pretty In Pink!

8/27/2012

I have made several pink invites but they are usually in the pastel to rose range. Luckily, Donna contacted me about making some very vibrant pink escort cards for her daughter's Bat Mitzvah and I jumped at the chance! While I would not categorize myself as a girly-girl, I do fancy a hot pink from time to time - please don't tell :) These cards are originally featured in my shop as a navy blue (here) and it was fun to see them all dolled up!

If you've never visited Style Me Pretty, go there right now! They feature beautiful and unique weddings with tons of photos! Recently, they featured the wedding of the lovely Abigail, a bride that I had the great fortune to work with on a completely new and custom piece! Abigail contacted me through Etsy to make some very special buttons and she was kind enough to give me a shout out in her article! Read all about it here or skip the love story and go straight for the pictures! (I'm on page 5) :)

Earlier this month, Rachel and Matthew were wed in beautiful Vail, Colorado and these pink and ivory mountain invites were the perfect set for the couple! This suite is originally in a seafoam color (here) but as with everything I make, the customization is the fun part :) I've now done this suite in a few different color options, including gray, purple and green. I have no favorites, I love them all :) This time, the couple went with a double layer invitation, matching RSVP card and a reverse color info and accommodation card. Love it! Many thanks to the newlyweds!

Elana and Ethan were married in Havard, Mass this weekend! HOORAY!! I had the pleasure of making this couple's wedding suite, starting with the Apple Tree Save The Date Cards (you can see the original post about them in The Blog Archive). When we discussed their wedding stationery suite, the couple asked me to create a custom apple version of my Lemon Branch Invitation, which I was happy to do. You can see the result here, and I think they turned out great! I am so lucky! Best wishes to the couple!

I have made several wedding contracts in the past, and I think they are such a great idea! I hadn't yet had the chance to make one in the Mountain Suite design and was thrilled when Laurel and Philip asked me to work with them on this one! Along with being a commitment between the bride and groom, these contracts give all the wedding guests a chance to bear witness as two of their loved ones are joined in marriage. Such a wonderful idea!

A Mini Roundup

8/16/2012

Admittedly, I have let the blog slip away a little over the last couple months but for what it's worth, I've been having a lot of fun :)

I thought I'd take a minute to post some of the custom work I've had the pleasure of making over the last few weeks. Both of these items are featured in different color in my shop. The humming bird design is featured in a really bright and bold orange and hot pink. We turned this in to a pretty neapolitan scheme for this lovely ladies' retirement party.

These vintage scroll wedding programs for Shanelle and her new hubby turned out really pretty in the muted beige colors. Originally, these were featured in a teal and maroon color scheme (here) but I love them in the classic ivory!

Hope you enjoyed the mini-roundup! I promise to get more items posted over the coming days!

Oh So Beautiful

8/15/2012

One of my favorite websites, oh so beautiful paper, is all about beautiful wedding and party stationery along with all sorts of pretty printing and calligraphy, favors...and cocktails! What's not to love?! So I was poking around today and you'll never guess what I found... MEEEEE!

They were kind enough to put my pieces alongside some really great 4th of July items. While the holiday is gone, we're still in the thick of Summer! Check out the great post, here!

Today Facebook.com/OlioStudio reached 100 likes and I want you to know that I like all of you too :) As a special thank you, I'm going to give "liker" #100 a 15% discount on their Christmas card order. So keep liking and maybe you'll be a winner too!
XOXO, Melissa

Ok, well, not really :) But holiday postcards are available now! I thought postcards would be a fun way to go this year with some vibrant and modern designs as well as the more traditional. It's been a lot of work getting these 16 designs together and ready and now they've been posted for sale. You can find them all here:

If you are looking to go the way of the folded greeting card and envelope, I'm happy to do that as well! Also, as is true with all my listings, the text is completely customizable! So, you can use these for personal notes, corporate greeting or a festive invite!
